Have You Seen These Lately?!
“Seen what, our kitchen?” asks Susan in confusion.
“Specifically, the kitchen cabinets. How long has it been since we cleaned the kitchen cabinets?” asks Tom. Susan shrugs. “Ummm maybe never? The color hides the dust really well.”
Tom sighs. “Yeah, you’re right about that. We need to be better about cleaning our stuff, especially with how much kitchen cabinets cost. Maybe set aside a day every month to do a deeper clean?” Susan nods. “I like that. In the meantime, let’s look up how to clean kitchen cabinets. I don’t think just water will do it right.”
“I agree. Let’s look up the best way to clean kitchen cabinets on Google,” suggests Susan as she gets her phone out.
Here’s what the couple discovers:
How To Clean Kitchen Cabinets
Start cleaning your kitchen cabinets by dusting them with a microfiber cloth. You can also use a cloth diaper. Wet another microfiber cloth with warm, soapy water. Wring it out and wipe down your cabinets. Dry them immediately after. Don’t forget about the bottom edges of doors and drawer fronts.
Spray the cloth, not the cabinets, and make sure to really wring it out. You don’t want water running down the cabinets and getting where you can’t dry it. This will eventually damage your cabinets.
Wipe up any spills as soon as you can. You can get rid of fingerprints on metal cabinets and handles using a soft cloth and stainless steel cleaner.
What Not To Do When Cleaning Your Cabinets
It’s best to have cloths set aside just for cleaning cabinets. Other cloths can have residue on them that can get on your cabinets. The fibers on non-microfiber cloths may harm the finish.
You won’t want abrasive cleaners or pads, steel wool, harsh detergents, or oven cleaners to touch your cabinets. They’ll all hurt the finish and the look of your cabinets.
